FAQ – Frequently asked questions
On how many computers/devices may I install OnlineTV?
OnlineTV is a single user licence. This means it can only be installed on one computer. And additionally on any number of devices with Android that you own.
Is OnlineTV a subscription?
No! No subscription, online TV is paid for once and that’s it.
How do I get the version for Android?
We will provide you with instructions as soon as you purchase the software from us.
Is there a free version of OnlineTV?
Not at the moment. We are working on a limited demo version. The full version contains no advertising, more stations and no waiting times.
On which operating systems does OnlineTV run?
Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 are supported in both 32- and 64-bit versions. And of course Windows 11 and Android devices, which are 32- or 64-bit. Problems may occur with virtual operating systems (VMs). Windows on ARM is not yet supported.
Why do some streams (sometimes) not work?
Quite simply: OnlineTV accesses freely available streams on the Internet. The software itself does not provide its own content, but bundles existing offers in a clear and easily accessible way. If a stream does not work, this is usually due to the source itself. This may be due to a temporary server overload, technical problems, maintenance work or regional restrictions (geoblocking). Sometimes the stream has been changed, replaced or switched off completely by the provider. In such cases, we unfortunately have no direct influence, as the source is beyond our control. However, such outages are usually only temporary. Our tip: Simply try again a few hours later or the next day – the stream will often work normally again. If a channel is permanently unavailable, please let us know via our contact form. We endeavor to update our stream lists regularly.
Does OnlineTV run on macOS?
Yes, OnlineTV is also available on macOS!
Although our OnlineTV software was originally developed for Windows, there’s a simple way to run it on macOS: thanks to CodeWeavers’ CrossOver software. With CrossOver, you can easily use OnlineTV on your Mac and enjoy all your favorite content. As a special offer, you can get a 10% discount on CrossOver by clicking here. Try it out and see just how easy it is to enjoy OnlineTV on macOS!
Important: To import additional channels, however, you will need to take a small detour: You need the “onlinetv.dat” file of a Windows installation with imported channels. You can find it there in the user directory under “C:\Users\Name\AppData\Roaming\concept design\onlineTV20” and can simply copy it directly to “C:\” in CrossOver on your Mac.
Is the Anytime license still available?
No, since the introduction of version 20 we no longer offer such licenses. However, existing licenses remain valid. So an already purchased license will of course work with the current version!
